One story changed my career.

The first time I noticed the power of storytelling, I was 24, interviewing for my first corporate management position in the US.Sitting in front of the CEO and Board of Directors, I had two choices: lead with my credentials & experience (like everyone else) or tell a story.I shared the story of leaving Germany to travel and work in Australia for a year after graduating high school (speaking very little English). It revealed my resilience, adaptability, and leadership.I got the job.That interview changed the way I looked at communication forever. They didn't hire me because of my résumé. They hired me because they understood who I was, my values, what I stood for, and the kind of leader they believed I could become.That moment became the foundation of my work.
